6 Color Rotary 1st Helper

Job Summary
The primary function of the 1st Helper Press is to set-up the slotter, feed, and die cut sections on the machine accurately according to instructions on the factory masters.
Primary Duties

• Set-up slotter, feed, print stations and die cut sections on machine accurately
• Machines category includes Gopfert 6-color, McKinley 4 color, 50 Flexo 4-color
• Ensure all bolts for cutting dies are in place and tightly secured.
• Inspect all dies before and after run to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before the next run.
• Monitor box quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, warp, correct size, and print.
• Check anilox rolls for damage before and after each run
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Assist operator and 2nd Helper in other duties
• Monitor board quality, including loose liner, warp, dimensions, caliper and any other defects
• Report any quality problems to the operator and sort as necessary to keep the machine running
• Work at pace set by the machine operator
• Cross-train on other machines as necessary
• Be willing to move up the line of progression to operator status regardless of shift
• Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner
• Notify supervisor for needed repairs
• Regular and timely attendance required
• Follow LOTO procedures for machine/equipment
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping
• Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SKNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.

Requirements
Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED within 6 months of employment
• Able to read, speak, write and comprehend basic English
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Able to lift 25-50# on a consistent basis
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters
• Preferred - prior work experience in corrugated industry. 6 months experience as a Press Department Helper and/or 6 months experience in the Press and Finishing Department
