We work with the latest generation of 5G broadband wireless technology. Our unit is responsible to systemize, design, implement and integrate software features to control the air interface.

We coordinate in cross functional development teams in which continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing is part of daily work.


Position Summary

We work with the latest generation of 5G broadband wireless technology. Our unit is responsible to systemize, design, implement and integrate software features to control the air interface.

We are looking for a Baseband Software Tester to join our 5G NR RAN function development team. Your role will focus on quality assurance, verifying and integrating software content for Ericsson’s gNodeB products.

We coordinate in cross functional development teams in which continuous improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing is part of daily work.

You will:

  • Integrate, troubleshoot, and verify new features and functions for Ericsson gNodeB, vCU and vDU products.
  • Perform legacy quality assurance and feature interaction testing
  • Apply knowledge of wireless communication protocols; 5G and LTE
  • Work in a lab environment to trouble-shoot and integrate complex new pieces of software.
  • Develop automated test cases to ensure existing functionality is never degraded by new software
  • Document all test analysis and test plans
  • Work collaboratively in small cross-functional teams that include design and system engineers.


To be successful in the role, you must have:

  • A passion for test and ensuring quality, be inquisitive and quick to learn, be able to debug when things go wrong.
  • Experience with wireless air interface (LTE and/or 5G), end-to-end feature testing involving base station and mobile (eNodeB/ gNodeB and UE)
  • Ability to develop and maintain code for automated test case execution.
  • Ability to plan lab and debug setup, design and capture test case in test database, execute test plan, log test results, analyze data, and author test reports
  • Knowledge of 3GPP standards
  • Masters or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, preferably with demonstrated experience and knowledge in the above mentioned required skills areas


Highly Desired:

  • Experience integrating and testing cloud software
  • Experience working with SW designers to verify test builds, collect debugging info, reproduce SW faults from the field
  • Understanding of physical layer, signaling layer and protocol layer, throughput versus SNR, mobility handling, RF testing
  • Experience with functional, performance, robustness, configuration, capacity, and complex feature interaction testing
  • People skills, organization, communication, and multi-tasking skills
