About The Role:

The Golden Door Hike Shepherd is responsible for enhancing the guest hike experience. This candidate will be a dependable early riser who is available Sunday mornings from 5:30 am to 8:00 am that loves to exercise in the beautiful outdoors. If this is you, Golden Door wants you, as a part of our team.

Responsibilities:

• Require 5-mile mountain hike for a hiker who is capable of shepherding and eventually leading a fast-paced hike.
• Ensures that each guest has a positive and safe hike experience.
• Carries snacks for the hikers.
• Assists in emergency situations.
• CPR/First Aid Training a PLUS!

Physical Demands:

• Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property.
• Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity.
• Frequently needs to stand for long periods of time.
• Lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally.
• Vision requirements: constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach.
• Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to public, and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.

Employees must be 21 years of age in order to participate in this benefit. In addition, we offer vacation, sick pay, and paid holidays.
