5-6 Music Strings Teacher
Salary: $45,000 per year, based on qualifications.
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Status: Exempt Regular Full-Time

Job Product: Student understanding of string instruments that furthers the development of character and intellect.
General Purpose: The Strings teacher is responsible for developing students’ virtue and academic excellence by creating a positive culture of inquiry and learning, and by providing students with challenging and meaningful learning activities and experiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Subject matter knowledge
- Provide classroom instruction for students in grades 5-6 on musical instruments that have strings and that produce sound when the strings are touched or struck.
- Develop and implement class activities and games that reinforce the curriculum, including rhythmic and musical literacy and additional music education topics.
- Provide demonstrations on the violin to facilitate class lesson plans!
- Provide written and verbal feedback on student progress.
- Lead the students in large-group rehearsals and/or performances.

Meets professional responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in music education or music, with at least 36 semester hours in content area.
- Colorado teaching license not required.
Experience:
Prior teaching experience is not required.
