The Assistant Project Manager I is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in overseeing and managing assigned governmental contracts. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing duties as detailed in the PWS or other contracted services. Quality customer service is expected to be provided to the customer at all times. Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job is a requirement of the position.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in the daily operations of specific contract services delivered to customers in a timely and quality manner
  • Be responsible for job training for staff, including safety lessons from training materials
  • Orientate and train new team members in the safe and proper operations of equipment
  • Promote a safe work environment. Participate in and/or conduct safety meetings as required
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparation of budgets and Quality Control planning
  • Distribute work assignments per contract requirements
  • Establish and maintain a positive relationship with customers
  • Perform direct contract functions and/or labor as required
  • Inform the Project Manager of any workload changes and/or variations
  • Respond to customer complaints and special request. Follow up with the contract POX for service clarification
  • Oversee contract site Quality Control inspection program
  • Assist the Project Manager in ensuring that all Service Contract Act (SCA) and/or Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) requirements are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Leadership Responsibility:

  • Interview, select, and train team members to enhance productivity and efficiency of the workforce
  • Manage team members to promote maximum productivity, achievement of program goals, and favorable team member retention
  • Conduct annual team member performance evaluation for all direct reports
  • Address team member complaints per company policies and procedures
  • Discipline team members per company policies and procedures
  • Conduct supervisory administrative duties, including weekly scheduling, timesheets, expense reports, etc.
  • Maintain current competence through continuing education
  • Maintain compliance with mandatory training requirements

 

Must Haves:

  • Experience:  
    • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising or leading teams.
    • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in Food Service management or related field.
  • Must have experience dealing with government personnel/customers concerning contracted services.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge (Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.).
  • Must interact appropriately with customers and team members.
  • Have good management communication (writing and verbal) and people skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state they reside, have a satisfactory driving record, and be insurable under the corporate policy.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract(s).
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

 

Physical Requirements

  • May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Most work will take place indoors. May work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change. May require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, and/or evening hours and weekends and holidays.
  • While performing this job's duties, the team member is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive), and lift up to 40 pounds. Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Compensation:

Salary: $56,448.00 - $65,016.00
