Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities for the welder include but are not limited to:
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Welding steel structural parts as specified per drawing or print.
- Operating powered tools, industrial powered equipment and overhead cranes.
- Effectively communicating with upstream and downstream to address safety, quality and efficiency issues/concerns.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to achieve 1G and 2G weld certifications within 3 months
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and prints
- Crane certification
- Experience in material handling
