Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Operations, plans, organizes, coordinates, inspects, and supervises the work of the custodial staff; evaluates the performance of assigned personnel; assigns regular work routines to assure the cleanliness and safe conditions of Statehouse; inspects the cleanliness of offices, restrooms, hearing rooms and other facilities to assure the use of proper and efficient methods and compliance with quality standards; provides training to staff in the proper and efficient performance of custodial duties and to give instructions to assure proper care and use of equipment and materials; prepares, maintains and reviews purchase orders and reports related to custodial operations including timesheets/payroll; communicates with the Deputy Director concerning custodial operations and activities, and to resolve custodial problems involving care, cleaning and discipline; maintains and issues custodial supplies; requisitions supplies and parts; initiates and prepares service requests for needed service or repair; operates assigned equipment; performs various cleaning tasks, including sweeping, cleaning, stripping, resealing, buffing and/or wet mopping floors; shampooing carpets; removing trash; wiping desks and furniture; cleaning windows, stairways, corridors, walls and fixtures; scrubbing and sanitizing bathrooms; performs all essential functions in accordance with all safety regulations and actively tries to eliminate safety hazards in the workplace; perform other related duties as assigned.
36 months experience in: supervision; cleaning practices & procedures; establishing work assignments; setting cleaning routines/standards; inventory control.Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division. Physically perform manual labor & lift 50 pounds.
