As the Production Supervisor you will supervise skilled individual contributors engaged in manufacturing operations applying process controls, lean manufacturing principles, niche instruments, and chemicals with minimal daily supervision. Leads day-to-day production activities by assigning tasks and advising the execution of processes while identifying and prioritizing continuous improvement opportunities. Facilitates business transparency by proactively communicating with technicians, customers, and stakeholders. Monitors key performance indicators while facilitating business growth through digital innovations. Trains and develops technicians to ensure professional growth through coaching, OJT, mentoring, and employee empowerment. This is a people and production management role which may grow in scope and responsibility as business needs evolve.
- Lead resources and contribute to strategic workforce planning
- Manage a team of 10 - 15 direct reports
- Define performance expectations and ensure accountability
- Establish and maintain business controls and processes
- Meet and exceed metrics by ensuring production schedule is met
- Support and contribute to continual improvement project implementation
- Define and implement operational efficiencies
- Coach and mentor team members
- Communicate optimally to team, peers, and leadership
- Ensure a work environment consistent with Agilent Core Values
- Ensure a safe and compliant work environment
- Occasional Saturday coverage
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelors Degree or University Degree with equivalent plus 5 or more years proven experience as a manager and or supervisor.
- Proven track record of people management, employee development, leadership by example, and strategy and annual plan development.
- Confirmed skills in leading and handling the execution of processes and projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledgeable at capacity modeling, LEAN/Six Sigma, ERP and related digital manufacturing tools and systems.
- Practical eye for business for inquisitive decision making.
