2nd Shift - Paint Line Supervisor

Job Title: Paint line Supervisor

Reports to: Business Unit Leader

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Schedule: Applicable Shift Hours (Additional time as needed to supervise overtime)

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

The Supervisor is responsible for all activities on the shift. They are responsible for following manufacturing schedules, communicating during the process, ensuring that all team members are performing to meet production targets, and utilizing systems that guarantee products are manufactured to the highest quality standards. The Supervisor must ensure that employees adhere to Company policies and procedures, follow standard work instructions, and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient, effective, and safe as possible.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Oversee the production process by directly meeting with leads and communicating plans of action. In addition, follow up to ensure work is completed.
• Follow the production schedule to ensure that all timelines are met. This includes following job dispatch, following the priorities list, and communicating any deviations to the team as well as the planners.
• Manage a team of production staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Encourage and build up leaders to fill gaps in the team. Manage individual efficiency and move team members accordingly. Set aside time for training and continued education for team members.
• Ensure that all safety and health standards are met to keep the facility accident and hazard free. Continually look for hazards and make the team aware.
• Communicate regularly with management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
• Record all second shift KPIs for E-Coat and Powder coat.
• Manage HR requirements including timecards, time-off, and work-related disputes.
• Assist production floor with PLEX and inventory issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

Daily Activities Included in role:

• Walkthrough to observe overall cleanliness and verify proper operation and location of parts.
• Verify quality records are within range for E-coat and Powder coat
• Meet with production manager to do daily production check in.
• Track any downtime or crashes in correct logs and notify production managers of delays.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

• Several years of progressively responsible experience with safety, quality, (IATF 16949) housekeeping, and productivity improvements in a manufacturing environment.
• Must possess superior interpersonal and organizational skills.
