Summary:
The Packaging Supervisor ensures that all products are packed safely and efficiently while maintaining a sanitary environment that meets all the food safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an associate degree (A.S.) with 2 years of related experience in a supervisory role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to provide leadership to and direct/review the work of +/- 20 unionized employees.
- Must be willing and flexible enough to work 2nd or 3rd shift on occasion as business requires.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, with basic to intermediate computer skills.
- Must have strong organizational skills; flexibility and ability to coordinate multiple priorities.
- Displays an attitude conducive to progress through positive change, continuous improvement and active contributor to the teamwork concept.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Directly supervises union employees in accordance with company’s policies, applicable laws, and union contract language. This includes, but not limited to, training, planning, assigning, directing, disciplining, rewarding, and appraising assigned workforce.
- Ensures the accurate reporting of employee time and accounts to be charged to payroll and finance.
- Regularly communicates expectations, performance and other key issues with team members. Serves as a primary contact with shop and office personnel related to the integrity of packaging.
- Ensures effective operation of packaging area and that production targets and quality standards are met. Inspects and verifies finished packaged goods.
- Assists in the development and implementation of safety, cost and quality improvement plans.
- Monitors machinery and check points for efficiency, and coordinates efforts with maintenance for any issues or concerns. Makes sure that employees are performing their daily inspections on the physical condition of equipment as well as housekeeping initiatives under assigned area.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $77,500.00 per year
