Lamination Machine Operator

Reports To: Evan Cooper – SIPS Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Compensation: Hourly
Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to operate the production machinery in each area of the Lamination plant (OSB-Cut, EPS-Cut, Roll-Coat, Hundegger, Shaping, Wrapping, Material Handling). This position is responsible for understanding all materials, available software, safe machine/tool operation, and required quality parameters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintain a clean and safe work environment
2. Maintain quality standards
3. Problem solving
4. Operating large machinery (Hilo, overhead cranes, etc.)
5. Operating hand tools (manual, pneumatic, electric)
6. Blue-print reading
7. Perform other related duties as required
8. Strict adherence to all safety policies determined by Porter Corp

Education and/or Experience
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Basic construction
3. Machining techniques
Travel
This position requires minimal to no travel
Computer Skills
· Basic understanding of Microsoft operating system
· Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
· Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems
Other Requirements
1. Reading measurement tools
2. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving
3. Ability to lift 75 lbs.
4. Able to stand and walk for 8-10 hours/day
5. Reliable attendance
