2nd Shift ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, & SAFETY (EHS) Team lead  Greenville SC

Standard Schedule: Typically, Mon-Fri 3:30 pm to 1:30am. Pay: $22/hr. Paid out weekly.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

2 years in Metal Fabrication shop Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental, or related field.

Person needs to have training in RCRA/DOT Hazardous Waste.  Certification in  RCRA is a plus. Will be overseeing the managing,  handling and removal of solid hazardous waste. 

 

· BASIC FUNCTIONS:

The EHS Team lead will work closely with the EHS Coordinator in leading our safety performance, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local safety, occupational health and environmental regulations including OSHA  and RCRA, and DOT. This position will also be responsible for assisting in training, culture building, environmental and safety management, along with other duties as directed. In addition to these responsibilities, this individual will be responsible for collaborating with and taking direction from the Safety Manager. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within our company; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety polices, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards always.

-  administering Safety Management program

-  maintaining Hazard Communication Standard Employee Right-to-Know program

- Ensuring daily and monthly safety inspections are carried out and corrective action is implemented on identified hazards

- Interpreting OSHA regulations and applicability to company’s processes

- administering  environmental programs

- Ensuring compliance with environmental requirements applicable to the company and ensuring that all reporting to appropriate agencies is done in a timely manner and all permits are current

- Handling all TSCA matters, including registration of new products

- Ensuring any corrective actions identified to eliminate discrepancies related to permit operations are implemented and effective

- Sign Hazardous Work Permits; Confined Space Entry forms; Lock-Out/Tag-Out Forms

- Maintaining safety training records as applicable in employee wellness programs

  • Conducting employee surveys
  • Performing inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, etc.
  • Conducting on-site evaluations/tests for employees
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Environmental Health Services

The EHO will have the opportunity to provide services in other departments as needed. This includes but not limited to:

  • Participating in team meetings with other departments/staff members
  • Participating in departmental meetings/meetings (i.e., site visits)
  • Performing job site inspections for other departments/staff members (i.e., ladder inspections, etc.)

Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in environmental health or related field. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment preferred. Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure of deadline-driven deadlines

PREFERENCES:

· Understanding of OSHA laws and regulations affecting the industry.

· Experience working with Safety Management Systems and standards.
