2Nd Shift Apprentice Machine Operator

Tufts Grinding is seeking a full-time Machine Operator located in Chicago Heights, IL.

Salary: Starting pay rate is $25.77/ hour ($22.77+ $3/hour shift differential). Once you are fully trained on the machine your pay rate will be $29.13/hour ($26.13+ $3/hour shift differential).

SCOPE OF WORK:

Operates various industrial machines.

Occasionally operates fork trucks, side-loaders, and an overhead crane as necessary to fill production needs.

When necessary, assists in packaging and shop cleaning.

Candidate will report to the Shift Supervisor and/or Production Manager.

This position is for 2nd Shift (afternoons, 3pm-1:30am M-F, 1pm-9:30pm Saturday when needed). May train on day shift (5am-3:30pm) before moving to 2nd Shift.

Overtime as well as Saturday work based on production levels may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Individual must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment; attention to detail is a must, as well as the ability to work safely in an industrial environment.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Previous Machine Operator experience a plus, but not required. Training provided upon hiring.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires ability in the following areas: climbing, balancing, stooping, crawling, kneeling, exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force, finger dexterity, and reaching.

Employee is required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, and other personal protective equipment as required.

Candidate must pass physical and drug screen
