QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma. Ability to type and perform general clerical work with accuracy. Basic computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office and other technology. Physical ability to move crosswalk equipment. Good hearing and vision. Ability to occasionally work in hot/cold or unusual weather conditions. Interest in the safety of children. Any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

JOB GOAL:
Under general supervision, to perform any of a variety of regular clerical record keeping, record checking, typing and filing duties which follow particular routines in school or district offices. Provide student supervision and create a caring environment consistent with the Kids's at Hope philosophy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Office Support
- Performs a variety of clerical work, including proofreading, filing, checking and recording information on records.
- Posts information to forms, accounts and records.
- Alphabetizes, files and re-files papers, cards and reports.
- Searches records and files for readily identified information.
- Answers the telephone and provides information concerning school and programs.
- Prepares and compiles various school records and reports.
- Greets visitors and provides information relative to departmental procedures or services.
- Operates a variety of office machines, including copier, and computer.
- Multitask in a public setting while greeting the public and providing excellent service.
- Assist school health aide and provides support when absent.
- Provides support in school where necessary as directed by the Principal/Administrator.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect student in the crosswalk area.
- Places crosswalk signs out and remove at the end of shift.
- Reports any suspected violations of school policy or law to the Principal for immediate follow up and action.
- Provides positive student supervision in cafeteria during all grade level lunch periods.
- Organizes students into orderly lines for purchasing food and directs them to assigned tables.
- Organizes students for orderly disposal of food waste, trays and utensils.
- Organizes groups for orderly dismissal from the lunchroom.
- Empties full trash bags and places in garbage bins and adds new liner to trash containers.
- Maintains garden bar and condiment bar area clean.
- Cleans any spills in eating area to ensure safety of students.
- Returns used trays to cashier for placement in dishwashing area.
- Notifies kitchen staff if condiments and/or utensils need to be replenished.
- Informs any attending teacher or paraprofessional at once of any serious infraction of disciplinary rules by students.
- Immediately calls an attending administrator, teacher or paraprofessional in the event of any argument involving more than two students; any incident involving physical confrontation; and any incident that appears to be of more than a momentary disruption.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Ten month. Salary according to Classified Hourly Salary Schedule grade 2. Employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.
