Therapeutic RNA Delivery Research
Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern to join our innovative research team, focusing on deliver therapeutic RNAs to specific cells and tissues using virus-like particles (VLPs). We are taking a radically innovative approach to delivery following the lessons taught by viruses. This internship is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of CRISPR-related technologies, contributing to the development of life-saving medicines.
Learning opportunities:
- Gain a thorough understanding of CRISPR technology and VLP formulation processes.
- Acquire hands-on experience in advanced laboratory techniques including Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), cryo-Electron Microscopy (cryoEM), Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), gel electrophoresis, microfluidics, tangential flow filtration, flow cytometry, and various cell culture methods.
- Participate in the analysis and interpretation of experimental data.
- Collaboration within a dynamic research team to optimize RNA design for CRISPR strategies.

Requirements:
- MUST be currently enrolled in a U.S. Graduate Degree Program (preferably with a focus on chemical engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or chemical biology) and not graduating prior to the completion of the Ionis internship.
- MUST be able to begin internship between 6/6 and 6/13/2024.
- MUST be able and willing to remain in the program through at least 8/16/2024.
- MUST be able and willing to commit to a minimum 40-hour workweek.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

The pay scale for this position is $18 to $23 per hour.
