Job Summary:

The Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department leads Mechanical Design, development, and integration of platform systems. This includes shelter systems, hardware integration, and cable & interconnections. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration, and production support

The department is seeking a Mechanical Engineering intern to support design and development efforts in such areas as mechanical systems, thermal systems, materials, test equipment, hardware processes, or manufacturing processes. The position is for a On-Site role within the MCAD Shelter Systems Team in Tewksbury, MA. You would apply your skills to contribute to the design, development and testing of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems, instruments, controls, and/or machines.

This position is an onsite role.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Training and application of RTX tools including CREO and PDM
• Design and Documentation support utilizing engineering tools, Adobe, and MS office suite
• Engineering Change and Drawing Release
• Collaboration with coworkers and diverse teams
• Training on Raytheon processes and procedures

This position can be a technical intern based on the candidate's classification as determined by grad year on resume and provided via questionnaire by candidate as outlined below:

• (Sophomore Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program
• (Junior Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program
• (Senior Technical) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program
• (Post-Graduate Technical) must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications) by start of internship

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Post Graduate by the start of summer 2024 in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools such as CREO or equivalent
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3.5 or above cumulative GPA desired
• Prior engineering project or internship experience
• Experience with Windchill PDM
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Microsoft Office or other presentation tools
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with coworkers on cross-function teams from diverse communities and cultures
• Demonstrate the ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution style

• Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
