Dana Incorporated is seeking to fill a 2024 Summer Functional Safety Engineering co-op position at their Novi, Michigan Technical Center located at 28001 Cabot Drive, Novi, MI 48377. This is a great opportunity to develop your technical skills by working alongside Dana's engineers in the completion of departmental oriented tasks/assignments.
Objective
- Delivery of high quality, product risk assessments in automotive, commercial and off highway vehicle markets.
- Co-ops shadow one of more of the safety engineers in the Corporate team who will act as a mentor throughout the co-op term, to participate in product risk assessments for powertrain applications.
- Learn about Functional Safety standards for the development lifecycle of vehicles in passenger, commercial and off-highway vehicle markets
- Participate in the continuous improvement effort for Dana's development of processes and templates for Functional Safety
- Contribute to the implementation of a global system for executing reviews and training programs
- Enrollment & active pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's of Science in Engineering or Engineering Specific majors: Electrical, Electronics, Computer or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Proven work experience, strong analytical ability, & excellent mechanical aptitude.
- Self-directed & motivated individual with great organizational skills.
- Full-time availability.
- Good oral & written communication skills.
- Must be able to interface in a team environment.
