ABOUT THE ROLE
Tribeca is seeking a Quality Control (QC) Lead Engineer. Working closely with the Tech Director, QC Manager, and Print Traffic Manager, the QC Lead Engineer works to discover, diagnose, and solve any issues that arrive with incoming DCPs. The QC Lead Engineer will work primarily with the QC Manager to set a workflow and to determine how and when to communicate with film teams about replacement DCPs.
Along with the QC Manager, this role works in concert with a team of union projectionists to provide exhibition recommendations for films to all festival venues to ensure a smooth screening experience for audiences and filmmakers.
ABOUT YOU
Our ideal candidate has a broad knowledge of the ins and outs of DCP creation and exhibition (especially regarding aspect ratios), sound channel mapping, the Linux platform, video codecs, hard drive formatting, is detail oriented, communicative, and comfortable in a deadline-dependent environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Investigate and troubleshoot findings and attempt to resolve them
- Work with QC manager to enter exhibition recommendations into a custom festival database for broader distribution throughout the festival.
- Troubleshoot film questions from the field during festival exhibition.
- Work with QC manager to investigate findings and communicate to print traffic any issues to relay to filmmakers.
REQUIREMENTS
- Familiarity with the Linux platform, terminal commands, and drive formatting basics.
- Meticulous attention to data entry.
- Experience with DCP exhibition and creation.
- Thorough knowledge of H264 and Quicktime file codecs.
- Superior organizational skills.
