Job description


Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is currently recruiting for an Investigative Learning Camp Office Assistant for summer 2024 . The Investigative Learning Camp is an academic summer camp designed for students entering grades 3-8. The position will be part time. The Office Assistant works from June 28 - Aug. 2, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Visit https://www.lakesideschool.org/summer/investigative-learning-camp to learn more about this camp and to see descriptions of the courses and activities offered for Summer 2024.
Responsibilities
  • This position reports to the Director of Summer School Programs and is responsible for providing administrative support for the four-week Investigative Learning Camp.
  • Assist Investigative Camp Director in preparing orientation materials for the Investigative Learning Camp faculty and counselor orientation.
  • Assist with supply ordering and organizing.
  • Assist with classroom preparation at the beginning of the summer and supply pack-up at the end of camp.
  • Supervise check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Provide training for the counselors on the check-in and check-out procedures
  • Oversee late arrival check in and early release requests.
  • Distribute and collect attendance.
  • Assist Camp Director with collection of camp photographs and with the publication of a weekly email to parents and guardians.
  • Assist Camp Director with fielding parent, teacher, and student inquiries when they enter the Camp Office.
  • Help maintain a welcoming, helpful culture in the Camp Office.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Investigative Learning Camp Director or the Director of Summer School Programs

Requirements and Qualifications
  • A high school degree
  • Ability to work with young campers, high-school aged counselors, and fellow administrative staff.
  • Knowledge of Lakeside's academic program and standards of excellence
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and the Google suite; ability learn new software systems
  • First Aid and CPR certification obtained before July 2
  • Willingness to drive a school minibus is a plus. You must be over 25 years of age and have a clean driving record to receive Lakeside minibus certification.
  • Candidates must satisfactorily complete at least two criminal background checks

Compensation
The stipend for this position is $4,200. While working on campus, lunch is included.
