AFM's Pacific Northwest region has 1 internship opening in Chehalis WA reporting to the District Manager. As an intern at AFM, you will be paired with a forester throughout your summer to gain a wide range of forestry and business experience. Activities will mostly include private land consultation, reforestation surveys, pre-commercial thinning (PCT) layout and compliance, timber sale layout and stream buffer delineation, harvesting inspections, GIS/GPS work, tract inspections, and other duties assigned by AFM foresters. Our seasoned foresters are experts in the field and are here to train new foresters entering the industry. Our standards are high. Position Requirements:
At AFM, our people are our top priority, and that includes our interns. The position is flexible with start and end dates to accommodate class schedules. This is a paid position, the pay is to be between $20 - $22 an hour. AFM will not be providing additional assistance with housing.

Position Requirements:
- Pursuing a Degree in Forestry or Natural Resources
- Desire to learn more about a consulting forestry career
- Experience in forest inventory is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; working knowledge of GIS & GPS applications is a plus.
- Must have personal skills necessary to communicate with AFM team members, managers, and contractors.
- Valid driver's license.
