2024 Engagement Fellowship – CDP North America
Closing Date: March 27, 2024
Expected Start Date: April 22, 2024
Location: Remote in North America (hybrid option available).
Interview Process: Please apply via the online application form before 5pm Eastern time on March 27, 2024. You will receive screening questions to which you will need to respond in writing before the deadline. The interview process includes up to two rounds of interviews with a Disclosure Team Member.
Duration: Fellowship will end October 18, 2024, with potential for extension
Hourly Rate: $18/hr
Schedule: 20-28 hours per week
Eligibility: Please note, you must be eligible to work in the US or Canada for this role.

What you will receive

Who you are
- You... Are interested in:
- Corporate sustainability and climate action and/or are familiar with the business implications to private sector companies represented by climate change, deforestation and/or water use; AND/OR
- Public sector sustainability and climate action—particularly in mitigation and adaptation efforts, and green infrastructure projects, and/or are familiar with the roles that public sector entities play in climate action
- You… Have superior interpersonal skills and ability to work in a customer-facing role
- You… Can quickly understand and effectively frame and communicate complex ideas
- You... Perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- You... Are detail-oriented and can learn and navigate software systems and processes for tracking and relationship management
- You… Are a team player and able to take ownership over your own work while collaborating with others
Bonus points
- You have or are pursuing an education in public policy, public administration, urban studies, sustainability, environmental science, political science, business and/or finance.
- You have work experience in local or state government, at a public authority or Crown corporation, or on corporate sustainability.
- You can communicate professionally in French or Spanish.
Your day-to-day
- You will… proactively engage publicly traded companies or public sector institutions to disclose to CDP and support them through their disclosure via emails and phone calls.
- You will… Conduct research to build upon the business case for disclosure for targeted organizations.
- You will… Improve existing and develop new engagement content, including presentation slide decks and other resources like one-page explainers.
- You will... Work with multiple systems and tools to maintain and track relationships.
- You may… Help co-manage a support inbox to provide key information to new and previously responding companies, helping to secure participation in CDP programs (climate change, forests and/or water security).
- You may... Answer inbound queries about the questionnaire(s) and help review responses to support optimal data quality, the advancement of climate policy, and participant satisfaction.
