Early Talent Intern - MBA
The Intern Program job gains experience and an overall feel for the company and the financial services industry by attending meetings, delivering presentations, exploring business-specific tasks, and working closely with cross-functional groups to better understand the organization. Over the 10-week summer internship program, this job participates in a robust training and onboarding program followed by an ongoing speaker series, lunch-and-learns, and cohort engagement activities. This job may have the opportunity to work in the follow business areas: Technology, Asset Management, Financial Analysis/Accounting, Audit, Risk and Compliance, Human Resources and Advice and Client Relationships.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Performs clerical duties such as organizing documents, maintaining files, photocopying, faxing, etc.
  • Assists in preparing information and research materials, including Powerpoint presentations.
  • Takes notes during meetings and provides to team members.
  • Researches and gathers documentation as directed by colleagues.
  • Attends company functions, including trainings programs, speaker series, lunch-and-learns and social networking events that provide opportunities for career growth and personal development.
  • Shadows multiple office jobs and trains in a variety of tasks.
  • Gains experience and an overall feel for the company and the financial services industry.

Associate Intern, Strategic Consulting
The Corporate Strategy & Development (CS&D) Team is comprised of three functions- Strategic Consulting, Corporate Development, and Competitive Intelligence- that develop and drive enterprise-wide strategy at TIAA. The Associate supports engagement management of broad cross-functional internal teams, including conducting interviews with internal clients, forming sophisticated hypotheses, designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, synthesizing conclusions and insights into recommendations, and executing strategic initiatives. The Associate will work both independently and in close coordination with other members of CS&D, business units, strategy and marketing organizations. This Associate intern will focus most of their time in the Strategic Consulting function, while also providing meaningful support to the other two through highly integrated team collaboration. This 10-week internship will start in early June 2024.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • The primary function of the selected candidate will be to lead research and problem-solving activities on a portion of an internal client engagement or study.
  • Associates work collaboratively with colleagues and internal clients, and are also involved with presentations to internal clients.
  • Associates support engagements by conducting interviews, forming sophisticated hypotheses, designing and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and synthesizing conclusions and insights into recommendations.

Qualifications
  • 3 Years Required; 5 Years Preferred
  • Currently pursuing an MBA degree (1st year student)
  • University (Degree), Preferred

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior management consulting, internal strategy/consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, or financial services experience
  • Experience with creating powerpoint decks, presenting to senior executives, and qualitative and quantitative analysis

Base Pay Range: $65.00/hr. - $65.00/hr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
