JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for technical duties in the maintenance of department records. Job duties consist of related technical duties. Successful performance contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of those operations. FLSA status is Non-Exempt.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this classification. UCR REPORTING DUTIES (50%)
Reads and assigns UCR codes to Incident Offense (I/O) and Arrest reports.
Performs data entry to submit reports to the State of Alabama.
RECORDS MANAGEMENT SUPPORT DUTIES (30%)
Uploads accident reports.
Researches and gathers I/O and Arrest reports for subpoenas for cases going to Municipal Court; faxes reports to other police agencies, attorneys, court systems, DHR, and the Board of Pardons and Parole.
Enters Private Property Accident reports.
Verifies warrants transmitted to Municipal Court.
Updates cases in workflow based on supplements from investigators; resubmits cases based on new information.
Generates reports on warrants services.
CUSTOMER SERVICE DUTIES (10%)
Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance.
Receives payments for accident reports, sex offender registries, and other items.
Forwards accident reports to insurance companies and attorneys.
OTHER RELATED DUTIES (10%)
Assist with maintenance of office supply inventory.
Assists with special events as requested.
Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED.
One (1) year of experience in data entry, preferably in a municipal government.
