The intern candidate will join the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Team at the Millburn Manufacturing site andwork closely with the Site Head of HSE and HSE Associate to implement HSE programs and improvement initiatives at the facility.

The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated team player. Responsibilities Work in parallel with the HSE team to provide HSE program development and support to the site Work closely with site personnel to develop an effective safety suggestion and local grass roots improvement methodology, with input from all functions Work closely with the HSE Team and site personnel to develop an innovative communication tool for safety topics to keep safety "top of mind" Work alongside HSE Team to perform daily tasks such as inspections, issue resolution and follow-up Diversity & Inclusion / EEO The Novartis Group of Companies are Equal Opportunity Employers and take pride in maintaining a diverse environment. Requirements: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a US accredited degree-granting college or university pursuing an undergraduate degree. Degree focused on aspects of occupational safety or environmental protection a plus Possesses the interpersonal skills to develop and implement programs with the participation of site personnel in various functions at the site (e.g., production, labs, supply chain, etc.) Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; and to work in a diverse and changing environment Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team Good understanding of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and/or Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulatory applicability to industrial manufacturing settings Good organizational skills Why Novartis?
