Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Capital School District is seeking a well-rounded Computer Field Technician. Field Technicians are the primary point of contact for help desk tickets and responsible for troubleshooting/resolving a wide variety of technology issues, including PCs, Smartboards, Printers, Security Cameras, Mobile Devices, and other technology systems. A successful candidate will possess the following experience and skills:
  • Experience with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software and hardware on Windows Platforms
  • Proficiency with performing routine system installations, setups, maintenance, and configurations
  • Experience with current Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, and other Microsoft products.
  • Documented experience with troubleshooting and configuring hardware/software (SmartBoards, AV, Security Camera Systems, Mobile Devices, Computer Imaging and other various systems)
  • Proficiency with performing routine user system maintenance (new deployments, upgrades/migrations, file management, user management, software and hardware updates, etc.)
  • Strong foundation of fundamental network concepts and proven ability to troubleshoot both wireless and wired network connections.
  • Provide training to introduce technology to employees
  • Experience working collaboratively in teams, as well as completing assignments independently
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, including independently completing service requests and other responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Strong technical communication abilities including those that involve external entities, such as specialized technical support, and providing simplified communication to employees
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, demonstrates the ability to learn new skills, and excels under pressure
  • Works a flexible schedule, including evenings or weekends as needed
  • Other duties as determined by District and Departmental needs
Other Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent experience with advanced certifications
  • Experience in working in an education-related organization desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs to perform common tasks related to the position
  • Ability to crawl under desks and equipment and utilize ladders to install, repair, configure, or maintain equipment as needed.
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools to install, repair, configure, or maintain equipment as needed.
