JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide assistance to children crossing the street. Maintain children's safety in traffic.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED preferred
2. State of Arizona Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
3. No previous experience required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act,

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist children crossing streets.
- Move 15-mph zone and school crossing signs into and out of the street.
- Utilize proper hand signs as required.
- Adhere to regulations and guidelines governing school crossings.
- Ensure safety of pedestrians using assigned cross walks.
- Report problems with students or traffic.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
? Knowledge of traffic regulations pertaining to school and pedestrian crossings
? Knowledge of traffic control devices
? Skill in interacting with the public, especially children
? Ability to communicate orally
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to traffic hazards
Potential physical harm
Exposure to outdoor elements
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
May be required to move signs weighing up to 25 lbs. into and out of the street.
