Project Description:
The intern will work as a member a multi-disciplinary team developing a capability to study energetic materials and sustainable chemistry alternatives computationally for customer specific applications
During the internship tasks will include:
Computationally examine the following properties of interest for energetic materials and sustainable chemistry alternatives:
- Enthalpy of formation
- Detonation velocity
- Peak pressure
- Specific impulse
- Viscosity
- Melting point
- Detonation temperature
- Impact, friction, ESD sensitivity
- Enthalpy of sublimation
- Density

What We Need From You:
- GPA of 3.3 or higher
- U.S. Citizenship
Desired Skill Set:
- Graduate (MS or PhD candidate) students pursuing degrees in Computational Chemistry or Theoretical Chemistry, Computer Science, Software Development, Mathematics or similar.
- Experience using Gaussian software
- Knowledge of energetic materials is a plus
- Applicants with experience or familiarity with how the topics above concern multiple overlapping disciplines such as mathematics, computer science, data science, and engineering, are highly desired.

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
USD $22.00 - USD $36.00 /Hr.
