This position supervises a team but does not directly manage employees.
Position Summary
A successful Crew Leader will have a strong communication background and good leadership and team-building skills to help lead our team members. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, maintaining quality standards, maintaining productivity goals, and ensuring employees follow safety and operations processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Pulling, pushing, loading, and relocating plants
- Works on scaffolding as a regular part of duties
- Supervise, direct, and assist crew with production goals
- Moves inventory by running reports for area's to be moved to and from the warehouse, coordinating inventory transfers with related departments
- Verifying and maintaining a desired level of quality
- Helps to coach and train employees within the department
- Other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills and ability to give constructive feedback to crews
- Effective verbal and written communication skills needed
- Strong organizational skills including time management
- Proven basic math skills required
- Must be able to adapt to multiple and different job situations on a daily basis
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and seek solutions to problems
- Detailed-oriented, accurate, reliable, able to multitask, and be a team player
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 35 pounds repetitively for 8 or more hours/day
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, sit, twist, stand for 8+ hours a day
- Ability to use fine motor skills, such as pinching, squeezing, pulling
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, wet) and in an environment with dust and allergens
- Versatility to perform any job within our Production, Shipping or Labor departments
- Pushing, pulling rolling/shipping carts weighing up to 1000lbs (75lbs force)
- Climb a ladder and ability to work at heights above 6ft.
- Ability to obtain certification to drive low-speed vehicles
Job Setting & Physical Demands
This position is primarily outdoors but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including dust and allergens. There are occasional needs to work on scaffolding. Position requires long-term ability for standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility, including but not limited to driving the scooter. Must have the ability to consistently lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
