As a 1st Shift Switcher / Yard Driver working Monday- Thursday from 6:00AM - 4:30 PM, you'll get to make a difference in a fast-paced distribution center.
Qualification/Basic Job Requirements:
- Commercial Driver License (CDL)- Class A is required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 3 years of tractor-trailer related experience is REQUIRED
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- DOT physical will be required
- Must have a favorable driving record
- Have the ability to work under moderate supervision
- Completing trailer sanitation daily
- Complete daily inspection checklist of Cab
- Moving equipment around the yard
- Notifying management of repairs that need to be made
- Storing equipment in safe areas
- Conducting regular inspections of incoming containers per CT-PAT protocol when placing the at a door
- Conduct weekly yard checks
- Ensure seals or locks are placed on all Outbound trailers or on trailers carrying merchandise
- Assisting carriers in finding trailers or providing direction
- Monitor fluid levels and refill fluids such as Blue Def when required
- Lock Cab while not being used
- Systemically move trailers to match physical location using an RF Device
- Stage trailers in preparation of upcoming switches
- Safely conduct all Hot or Cold trailer switches efficiently as possible
- Overtime is sometime required in or to complete trailer switched
- Flexible Shift work may be required
- $23.00 base pay, Non- DOT License
- $24.00 base pay, DOT License
