Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

Hubbell is currently hiring 1st Shift Press Machine Operators. The incumbent will work in the press molding department producing thermoset compression molded parts of various sized and using hydraulic-powered presses. Press Starting base pay is $20.00 per hour. In addition, as a new hire, you will be eligible to receive a $1000 retention bonus on the 90th day with Hubbell. Health care benefits start on the first of the month following your hire date.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow Company safety and break policies safely manner, follow directions, and wear company-issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Immediately report any unsafe activity or accident to the department Supervisor
  • Learn and understand the standard operation the of hydraulic power press.
  • Place and weigh material into buckets, and place into hot presses - Maximum Lifting Policy is 50 pounds.
  • Remove parts from the press in a safe manner, trim and deflash as instructed using hand tools, inspect for product quality, and place/stack onto pallets. - Maximum Lifting Policy is 50 pounds.
  • Work in an efficient manner maintaining part shift through/put quantity requirements.
  • Ask questions when unsure of work safety and through-put quantity requirements.
  • Keep the area clean, and follow good housekeeping practices.


Skills and Experience

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
  • High school diploma preferred but not required.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY:
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work in a group environment, and ask for help when needed.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, work in a fast paced environment with repetitive motion, clutch, lift, grab, bend, stoop, push and pull with no difficulties, be on feet during work shift, and clearly communicate issues.
