Scheduled Days – Monday through Friday with additional days as dictated by production operations.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of Supervisor and Superintendent, operates and oversees the operations during the day shift at the plant, performing technical work related to the Plant operation and maintenance
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Abide by all JBS/MOPAC Safety Policies, including appropriate PPE and report any incident or accident to your supervisor immediately
- Report into to supervisor at beginning and end of shift
- Start up and shut down cookers
- Cover for Continuous Operator during breaks, lunch and shift gaps
- Direct Dump load operators on what trailer to be dumped and in what pit – insuring oldest material is dumped first.
- Record dumped trailers on dump log – record quality data from dump log operator feedback– track empty trailers.
- Operate controls for the continuous operation, maintaining highest level of throughput throughout shift (80,000 per hour) both cookers
- Monitor and check press material and feed screws
- Mix chemicals
- Pump material to filter room
- Pump fines to grease room
- Drain Tanks as needed
- Pull product samples for FFA and Color – Perform FFA tests – take samples to the lab
- Restock Chemicals at end of shift
- Determine quality and move washed tallow to tanks
- Constant communication to filter room
- Maintain and clean area during and at end of shift
- Record and report inventory at end of shift.
- Report in writing any maintenance issues during or still remaining at end of shift
- Any other work as required and directed by management
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employee may be required to work indoors and outdoors during seasonal heat and cold or other adverse weather conditions. Employee may be required to work where regularly they may be exposed to fumes, dust and odors, as well as high noise levels from operations in the plant. Employee may be required to lift equipment or perform maintenance that would require to lift up to 50 lbs.
Employee may be required to work shift work. The shift work may be eight (8), ten (10), or twelve (12) hour shifts and it will be night shift and it may be early morning as needed. There will be weekend, holiday and overtime work as needed.
