JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining all knives and blades for production use. Ensures all blades fit properly and identify damage or wear/tear.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Operate and maintain sharpening equipment to factory specification.
2. Ensure all knives and blades are free from damage and in good working order.
3. Inspect blades in production machinery to ensure proper fit and identify excessive wear and tear.
4. Assist with installation of new equipment and modify existing equipment as needed.
5. Complete all assigned work orders, and maintain documentation of all work performed.
6. Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate to supervisor or lead.
7. Attend meetings and trainings as required.
8. Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
9. Perform backup duties to other staff as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

1. Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures.
2. Knowledge of basic math.
3. Skill in using hand and power tools.
4. Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
5. Ability to operate sharpening equipment.
6. Ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems.
7. Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with both internal and external customers.
8. Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits.
9. Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards.
10. Ability to read, write and speak English.
11. Ability to be a good representative of the Company.
12. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
13. Ability to work in a team environment.
14. Ability to pass a maintenance entrance exam.
15. Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call and weekends.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma required. Minimum of two years related experience in a maintenance position preferred.
