Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building through employee meetings, effective communications, and in developing an efficient team that is responsible for engine assembly
  • Establish standards and expectation for work effort and performance for subordinates. Give constant feedback on performance to those standards. Communicate with other department personnel and customers to ensure customer satisfaction and actively to address issues and engage the workforce in achieving production test goals
  • Allocate and assign resources.
  • Coach employees to improve performance when needed.
  • Communicate with other department personnel and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Perform administrative functions as related to bargaining unit employees including maintaining training, quality, and attendance records.
  • Manage cell overtime and equitably distribute among employees.
  • Ensure department equipment is clean, properly maintained, records and labels properly affixed, and uptime optimized while meeting all safety requirements.
  • Ensure that all employees are fully trained in required aspects of Environmental Health & Safety.
  • Ensure World Class safety culture is maintained and respond to all Environmental Health & Safety requirements promptly.
  • Ensure full involvement in CORE continuous improvement initiatives is consistently upheld.
  • Utilize CORE tools to improve production, performance, and reduce scrap, rework, and repair. Achieve CORE levels as planned.
  • Demonstrate a 100% commitment to quality in actions, decisions, and communications. Ensure compliance to all Quality policies and procedures.
  • Control quality, productivity, and process flow to meet customer MRP requirements while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance to Pratt & Whitney policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience OR Masters’ degree in related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership attributes and ability to influence business objectives.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement principles (CORE, QCPC, etc.).
  • Experience with Environmental Health & Safety principles.
  • Strong command of MS Office applications, specifically MS PowerPoint and Excel.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
