Senior Database Analyst
Location: NC ONLY
This is with Health Care Group -
The Healthcare Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence delivers internal digital tools, customer facing applications and insights from analytics by using a diverse set of healthcare and benefit related data sources.
You will develop and manage curated data repositories in our enterprise analytics platform. These foundational datasets will drive analytics for our various product lines, such as our health savings accounts business.
Must Have Skills:
• SQL and Python and Tableau or something similar
• Expert in writing design documentation and updating them using tools, such as Confluence
• 3+ years of experience working with data in analytics databases
• Clear history of performing sophisticated data analysis and present findings to support recommendations
• Communication skills – proactive and engaged – also work well with business partners
Nice to Have Skills:
Knowledge of financial records and healthcare claims is a plus

We are looking for a Senior Database Analyst to join us in Durham, NC!
The Role
The Healthcare Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our team. You will develop and manage curated data repositories in our enterprise analytics platform. These foundational datasets will drive analytics for our various product lines, such as our health savings accounts business. The role is an exciting opportunity to explore and analyze many different types of data, including account transaction and clickstream activity. You will work closely with squad leads, data engineers, and architects. The data platform you design will drive servicing of our customers to new heights!
The Team

The Healthcare Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence delivers internal digital tools, customer facing applications and insights from analytics by using a diverse set of healthcare and benefit related data sources. We employ a full spectrum of techniques - predictive models from machine learning, causal inference from epidemiology, and natural language processing from deep learning are all part of the mix. We open up the boundaries of what's possible with data to help clients and their employees select, handle, and navigate their healthcare benefits.
The Expertise You Have
  • BS in computer science, engineering, or similar technology field; MS in analytics or management information systems is a big plus
  • 3+ years of experience working with data in analytics databases, including writing code that cleans, error checks, reconciles, and restructures
  • Consistent record working with transactional data; knowledge of financial records and healthcare claims is a plus
  • Prior responsibilities include data quality and usability
  • Clear history of performing sophisticated data analysis and present findings to support recommendations.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, converting business requirements to conceptual data models and preparing data transformation rules.
  • Experience on project teams that delivered software into production; consulting experience is a plus
The Skills You Bring
  • Fluent in SQL and Python, and at least one analytics front end such as Tableau; familiarity with self-service analytics is a plus
  • Clear ability to analyze complex datasets from several sources, such as demographics and investments, and merge such information for a more complete picture
  • Basic grasp of statistical methods, including summarizing, trending, and outlier detection; ontology development is a big plus
  • Strong proactive communication skills for reporting progress and blockers
  • Talent for building strong relationships with business partners as well as technologists, with a strong communication style that clarifies understanding among all project team members
  • Expert in writing design documentation and updating them using tools, such as Confluence
  • Experience with Agile ceremonies
