This position is associated with the Six-Pence Grant Program which serves preschool children. 45 weeks per year, 225 days per year, 1800 hours per year Office will be located at Kearney Education Center. Competitive Salary Benefits: BCBS Insurance (KPS will pay a portion of Employee Health and Dental) Sick Leave (10 days front loaded for the first year, year 2 and beyond, you will earn 1 day per month worked) 6 Personal Days Long Term Disability 125 Flex Plan NPERS Retirement Visions, Voluntary Life, Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Legal, Identity Protection, Short Term, Permanent Life with LTC QUALIFICATIONS: The Home Visitor should possess the following qualifications:BA from an accredited college or university in:Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood SPED; orNursing, Child Development, Social Work, Psychology (with at least 12 hours in family-centered practices or child and youth development)Preferred: Experience working with prenatal women, children ages 0-5, and families.Knowledge of the local community and positive community connections.Familiarity with diverse cultural values and needs of families in the community.Spanish Speaking, not required POSITION OVERVIEW:The Bright Futures Home Visitation program works to build productive relationships with families and caregivers and other team members.

This position supports high risk families by going into the home environment and supporting family growth, infant care, agency connection, parenting needs, health referrals and eating healthy. The Home Visitor will need to be able to actively listen, engage with families in a respectful and collaborative manner. The work with other team members and report to the Principal and Director of the KPS Early Childhood Program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Collaborate with Early Childhood and Sixpence staff and community partners.Conduct home visits (3 per month) to families with children between the ages of prenatal-3. Assist the home visitation families to transition to community-based preschool programs.Help families secure needed resources for successful family welfare.Recruit and partner with local agencies regarding the delivery of services.Create lesson plans and reflect on weekly visits with families. Maintains records and organizes accurate documents for grant purposes.Work with all members of the Kearney Sixpence team to ensure integrated planning and implementation of coordinated care.Complete required assessments and gather information to make data driven decisions.Attend Advisory Committee, team, and staff meetings, along with related meetings or training.Establish and maintain working relationships with staff, parents, community members and others.Assist in planning and carrying out monthly family engagement opportunities.Ability to work independently with little direction and take initiative.
