Infrastructure Systems Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS:
REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities Management and Manager of District Safety & Security
SUPERVISES: Infrastructure Systems Technician
JOB GOALS: Under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Facilities, Crafts, and Maintenance, perform electronic systems technician work within the District. Responsibilities include the installation, repair, and operation of a variety of systems, not limited to access control, intrusion, and security camera systems, in order to enhance student learning & safety, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the District's policy on Evaluation, State Statute, and any applicable Contract Agreement.
Infrastructure Systems Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS:
- AA Technical degree, or minimum of 3 years experience with infrastructure systems operation, such as security camera, door access, HVAC, intrusion, CCTV, managed networking, and similar systems
- Ability to function effectively as a team member and work collaboratively with others and independently as appropriate
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and Windows OS
- Basic technical knowledge of networking equipment, cabling, and operation
- Knowledge of all local, state and national codes and regulations relating to the field
- Maintain a current, valid driver's license
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, maintain, and repair access control, intrusion alarms, security camera, and other related systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and specifications for software/systems
- Prepare recommendations on layout and design for security and related electronic systems, in coordination with both new construction and renovation projects
- Manage, inspect, and report on work performed by service contractors in related field
- Coordinate with District IT personnel to purchase new equipment and software, in conjunction with the update of related network information
- Work with authorities having jurisdiction to secure permits and satisfy inspection requirements
- Assist in the training and support of District staff on new or updated electronic systems
- Manage District radio communication system: coordinate with internal emergency management planners and local emergency agencies, work with vendor to maintain radio hardware, and optimize radio programs to meet District needs.
- Prepare written status reports on projects as requested
- Attend meetings, workshops, and training to gather information relating to the job functions
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Year round position, wages and calendar year to be established by the Board of Education
- Requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical work day
- Must be able to respond to critical infrastructure needs at any time of day or night
- Bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, and continuous standing
- Work is both indoors and outdoors
- Must be physically and medically able to wear respiratory protection
