Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Group Services team focuses on welcoming and facilitating successful group visits for students, youth, and adults. In partnership with the museums Learning & Engagement department, Youth Program Associates provide student and youth visitors and their teachers with joyful and transformative experiences with art, promoting collaboration and interpersonal connection, and encouraging students to construct meaning that is relevant to their lives. Associates in this role are responsible for coordinating the arrival of school and adult groups to the museum. Spanish language fluency preferred. There are two general components to this position: group reception and program facilitation. Please Attach a Cover Letter.

This position reports to the Assistant Manager of Group Services, Group Services Department

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Group Reception

  • Coordinate on-site reception for all youth and adult group visitors, including orientation, collection of payment, and organization of tours
  • Act as a resource for questions relating to group ticketing and reservations as well as general Museum policies
  • Process group reservation requests in the museums ticketing system
  • Provide sales and administrative support, assisting with special projects related to the department
  • Manage communications with teachers and organizations relating to requests for field trips and guided tours.
  • Interact with visitors, assisting and addressing needs, concerns, and complaints to ensure an outstanding visitor experience
  • Other duties as needed and assigned

Program Facilitation

  • Moderate in-gallery tour experiences for middle/high school students in collaboration with docent volunteer guides
  • Lead workshop classes for Early Childhood Education (ECE) through 12th grade audiences
  • Support bilingual programming initiatives
  • Assist with Day at the Dam Programming
  • Stock and prep art supplies and materials for workshop spaces and guided tours
  • Consistent usage of the Racial Equity Lens in day-to-day operations
  • Yearly goal setting to support Racial Equity Roadmap initiatives
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Skills, etc.):

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:

  • Excellent customer service skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking fast-paced environment
  • Dynamic; able and willing to be flexible if changes arise
  • Spanish language fluency preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience leading youth programming (ECE 12th grade) preferred
  • Previous customer service experience preferred

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT USED DIRECTLY:

  • Microsoft Office suite
  • EMS (Event Management Systems)
  • ATMS+ ticketing software
  • Two-way radio system
  • Other typical office equipment

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • May be called upon to stand or move around the museum campus for extended periods of time

Pay: The hiring hourly range for the position is $18.00-$20.65 an hour based on experience. A .50C language differential is available for hours worked for candidates who have Spanish speaking proficiency.
