The Automation Tech II works with minimal supervision to resolve electro-mechanical issues and equipment errors on automated material handling systems and related equipment and perform repair and preventive maintenance. Performs on-site set-up, programming, and customer training.
Responsibilities- Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical problems
- Performs PLC troubleshooting and debugging
- Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings
- Performs on-site set-up, programming, and training
- Completes detailed reports and other paperwork
- Follows up on completed work with customers and other departments to ensure resolution
- Follows all Preventive Maintenance programs
- Completes all assigned training plans
- Complies with all safety programs, policies and procedures
- Associates degree from vocational school or college with focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of experience working in the mechanical/electronics field
- Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot all material handling equipment and components
- Ability to utilize the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for troubleshooting equipment
- Ability to execute assigned tasks
- Ability to interpret and modify mechanical and electrical drawings
- Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures and relate them to others
- Intermediate computer skills including MS Office
