Position Summary
The Wet Plant Board Operator is responsible for maintaining the Wet Plant automated system that controls the Wet Plant operations. The Board Operator communicates with all affected team members if there are adjustments in the Wet Plant that need to be made.
Essential Functions
- Controls Wet Plant functions and processes from the control room in a safe and efficient manner using an automated system and by directing team members for operational changes at the Wet Plant.
- Inspect work area daily for any safety concerns and report them to shift leadership.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively using company radio and other means of communication.
- Follow trends of sand feed and tonnage as sand is processed through the Wet Plant.
- Verify appropriate amps are being used on various pumps.
- Communicate effectively with operations and maintenance team members when troubleshooting Wet Plant issues.
- Work closely with the shift leadership on any safety or operations changes in the Wet Plant
- Create and enter work order requests into CMMS.
- Report all operations and maintenance activities and incidents to foreman and lead.
- Complete daily shift logs and reports to communicate any new statuses or ongoing concerns.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Six (6) months prior experience in working at a Wet Plant in sand mining operations, specifically working in board operations. One (1) year experience preferred.
- Exceptional oral and written communication with peers and plant leadership
- Must be attentive to details in Wet Plant processes and machinery
- Must be knowledgeable in all jobs in order to guide various Wet Plant systems.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and various technology programs to maintain records and reports for the facility; Microsoft Excel experience required
- Demonstrated ability to operating Wet Plant operating computer systems
- Understand Quality Control standards of sand specifications, turbidity and
- Ability to work tactically and strategically respond
- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure
Physical Requirements
- Shoveling wet sand occasionally
- Sweeping sand from control room frequently
- Sitting indoors maintaining control boards frequently
- Climbing stairs frequently
- Walking through muddy areas constantly
