West Coast Account Manager

Remote position based out of California. Ideal candidates in the East bay area, East of San Francisco.

While reporting to the Director of Sales - Sonoco Metal Packaging,you will be responsible coordinating all direct sales activities relative to those accounts and prospective accounts found within assigned area of responsibility while maintaining a regular contact with those accounts and prospective accounts in an effort to grow existing businesses and to also seek out new products and service opportunities. You will strive continuously to enhance Sonoco’s overall position in all served markets and potential markets.

What you will be doing:

• Prepare and maintain updated account plans for major accounts and prospective accounts found within assigned area of responsibility.
• Provide appropriate personnel with progress reports covering each account plan on a regular basis
• Establish and monitor closely a call plan for all customers and prospective customers within assigned area of responsibility and implement changes as required.
• Maintain up-to-date information with regard to gross margins for all major accounts and make pricing recommendations as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain multi-level contacts at all major existing and prospective accounts.
• Assist division marketing with trade shows, conventions, and trade association meetings as requested.

This position is a remote position based out of California. Ideal candidates would be located in East bay area, East of San Francisco.

• You have a 4-year undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• You have 3 years of sales experience minimum
•  Knowledge and experience in protective packaging (molded foam, plastics, fiber, thermoforming)

This is a progression position and level will be based on candidate experience and business needs.

Compensation: 

The annual base salary range for this role is from $98,700 to $118,440.
