JEVS Human Services is hiring for a Wellness Director at our Community Living and Home Supports (CLHS) program. CLHS allows individuals with intellectual disabilities to live with independence and dignity with the support of a caring and experienced staff. Our Wellness Director advances the activities of JEVS staff to facilitate wellness as the primary focus of everyday living. Quality of life is defined by the Individual but to be enabled by being well.
This role will be primarily onsite at our CLHS program (9350 Ashton Road, Philadelphia).
Job Duties:
Assess operations, lead annual plan, enables leadership at all levels and participate in Grant development. Provides direction to Director of Community Support Services, Associate Directors and Direct Reports. Oversees internships from colleges, schools, and universities. Provides training to all staff as needed. Creates and develops opportunities within the seven dimensions of wellness; creates an annual plan to sustain improvement and offer new opportunities
Supervise Assistive Technology (AT) services to assure evaluation, acquisition of technology and training technology usage occurs. Engage in business marketing and grant acquisition to pay for AT services. Implement processes and systems to track and bill service. Assure AT is used to help improve seven dimensions of wellness for individuals as applicable.
Oversee services for residents and program participants in the seven dimensions of wellness:
Nutrition: Provide access to knowledge about healthy eating and cooking; Develop tools and strategies to support re-learning eating and menu planning; Assess Intervention needed to advance health thru nutrition.
Spiritual: Provide connections to/from consumers and staff and community spiritual/religious center; Heighten awareness of religion in a healthy life; Assure access to pastoral support related to loss and grieving.
Physical Activity: Heighten the awareness of exercise as a part of a healthy lifestyle; Provide access to resources; Reconnect w/Special Olympics for those who desire the competition option; Develop goals to challenge people to get moving.
Social Leisure: Provide for assessments of Interest and time management; Provide access to knowledge of community centers, clubs, organization supports, hobbies, music, dance, art...; Renew social and leisure choices and set goals to advance.
Psychological: Provide support to evaluate outcome of behavioral health supports; Maintain knowledge of Community Behavioral Health system — access, services available.
Health: Locate health resources for those in need; Assess trends in health status which may inspire wellness actions; Serve as JEVS rep on health-related collaborative and effort. Oversee pharmacy agreements to assure medication continuity for residents. Provide support to manage medical insurance issues to assure that residents are receiving best possible healthcare and able to cover costs of necessary care.
Relationships: Assess whether consumers have or are making Mends and connections with “non-staff”; Assist staff to encourage involvement of families as desired by the consumer; Make connections with other organizations who support friend making.
Must have education in one of the following areas: BSN or RN, OT, Master’s in Psychology, Social Work, Therapeutic Retention.
- Skills and abilities which focus on wellness with demonstrated increased experience focusing on at least two areas of the seven dimensions of wellness. At least three years of supervisory experience. Excellent presentation skills, conflict management, team facilitation, computer literacy, and writing skills. Must have good communication and organizational skills.

The base pay for this position ranges from $73,000 to $90,000 and will vary based on factors such as skills and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
