We're seeking a Lead Web Developer to join our web application team. Our challenge is to provide applications for a growing company in the financial industry. Each department has a number of different needs, but there is also some overlap, so we have to make constant decisions to avoid code duplication, such as creating microservices or authoring libraries.
Our current systems run:
PHP with Zend Framework 2, Doctrine 2, and PHPUnit
JavaScript with jQuery
Bootstrap 3 customized with Grunt and LESS
SQL Server and MySQL
About the Job
You'll be helping us build new tools for the rapidly growing departments in our organization, including internal applications, web-accessible REST APIs, and front-end user experiences. We're looking for full-stack developers as you'll be working with the database, middleware, and front-end tools. Your team will typically have two to four additional developers that will benefit from your leadership and experience.
Responsibilities
Hands-on development and debugging of multiple applications
Communicate status and risks to the project management team
Provide technical and non-technical guidance to the team, both individually and as a group
Facilitate continuous learning and improvement for the team and its members
Interview development candidates and facilitate on-boarding of new team members.
About You
You're a developer who can turn requirements into reliable code that other people -- and your future self -- will find easy to read and modify. You understand how a great leader can help a team to achieve more than the sum of its members. You derive satisfaction from helping others reach beyond what they were previously capable of.
You will be successful in this role if you:
Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for developing software.
Teach and help other developers through mentoring and pair-programming.
Have extensive object-oriented software development experience including the SOLID principles.
Have mastered more than one open source development framework.
Have written unit tests, understand TDD, and are familiar with acceptance tests.
Can be autonomous and self-driven.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
