ResponsibilitiesPerforms the following duties to assemble customer orders of plumbing products via a fork truck according to invoices.
Based on customer order invoice from shipping office, travels through storage yard and warehouse picking product and placing into containers by hand or use of fork truck.
Orders are inspected and counted for accuracy as they are loaded, records count on invoice and loading sheet.
Prepares customer orders for shipping by moving product container(s) to position at loading sites and tags order by customer name, city and truck number.
Positions products relative to weight distribution to meet intra-state and inter-state load specifications and to prevent breakage of material in transit.
Loads the assembled orders to be shipped either by freight truck, UPS or FedEx.
Performs the following duties to receive plumbing products via a fork truck according to established locations in storage yard and warehouse.
Receives in and distributes a wide variety of products to the proper area of yard and warehouse for storage.
Learns and must know type, distribution, and location of products within the storage yard and warehouse.
Performs the following duties for daily operation of the storage yard and warehouse that eliminate work stoppages and customer complaints.
Keeps storage areas stacked properly and driving aisles cleared of all products and materials.
Inspects and maintains fork truck daily according to safety regulations and turns in safety inspection report to supervisor.
Assists in checking items as required by Sales Department to furnish them with accurate information which is used in establishing delivery dates for customer orders.
Performs other duties as required for efficient operation of our New Jersey Distribution Site.
QualificationsMust have experience working in inventory or warehouse facilities.
Must be adequately trained and certified as a fork truck operator.
Must be able to read, write, and do basic math.
Must be able to communicate effectively with other team members to ensure accuracy on invoices and pick tickets.
Must be able to follow written and verbal directions as given by supervisor or team lead.
