We are looking for a full-time (40 hours) Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Specialist for our Huntsville, AL location. This person will be part of our Munitions Response operating unit and primarily support the mission of the operating unit.
Your Role:
• Complete shipping documentation and labeling in compliance with applicable standards.
• Safely operate Forklifts in a warehouse environment.
• Work independently and maintain good working relationships with managers, co-workers, and employees.
• Communicate with foreign customs agencies to arrange for inspections, clearances, and delivery of shipment to their destination.
• Coordinate with brokers and other third parties to arrange shipments of goods between countries.
• Proactively communicates and reports shipment status.
• Respond to urgent project inquiries, as necessary, outside core business hours due to global footprint of our operations.
• Lift up to 55 lbs. and perform essential warehouse physical duties, involving long periods of walking, sitting and standing.
Qualifications:
• High School diploma.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in distribution, shipping, and receiving
• Hazmat/OSHA certification preferred.
• Experienced in various shipping applications and able to obtain IATA/CFR 49 HazMat certification. Working knowledge of DOT and U.S. Export regulations Routes, estimates cost, implements transportation orders, and tracks shipments.
• Strong practical knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Leadership expertise in distribution, transportation, inventory control, and customer service.
• Experience with ITAR and EAR licensing and shipping requirements.
• Proficient in shipping applications (FedEx, UPS, etc.) for shipping transactions.
• Understanding of multiple shipping methods - Parcel, LTL, FTL, Ocean and Intermodal.
• Must be a self-motivated, seasoned professional who is process-focused as well as results-oriented.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess a high level of proficiency in MS Office, specifically a proficiency in Excel.
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience.
Salary Range: $18.00 - $25.00
