Job Description
Golden Rain Foundation (GRF) at Leisure World, Seal Beach is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Assistant. In this position, you can expect to be very hands-on pulling small and large inventory items in our warehouse, delivering inventory and special orders to the departments on the property, tracking orders, data entry, inventory control, working with vendors and much more.

GRF is located within the Leisure World Seal Beach community. LWSB is an active senior community (55+) that is spread over 542 park-like acres which offers resort style living with all the amenities of small-town living.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
On a day-to-day basis, our Warehouse Assistant is responsible for:
- Selling inventory items to residents and contractors.
- Informing shareholders (residents), Board Directors and contractors about merchandise specifications and pricing, both in person and by telephone.
- Monitoring incoming requisition email box and distributes requisitions.
- Typing purchase orders for inventory and special ordered items.
- Filling correct inventory product numbers or price on Service Repair Order (SRO).
- Entering material billing information data from SROs into the inventory control system.
- Adjusting inventory entries for parts for all cost centers.
- Tracking Inventory transfer parts for Service Maintenance Department.
- Verifying totals and preparing daily report of cash sales, distributing report to the Accounting Department; and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Contacting vendors to request current insurance certification, receiving, and recording certifications and maintaining accurate information.
- Contacting vendors to verify delivery schedules of late orders and outstanding back orders.
- Making inventory adjustment entries for parts for cost centers.
- Coordinating inventory of transfer parts for Service Maintenance Department.
- Adjusting inventory on SROs for Community Facilities Department and data entry of parts for all cost centers.
- Verifying and logging incoming surplus equipment. Determining market value of surplus equipment, and scheduling pick-up for donation/disposal.
- Filing all portions of completed purchase orders, and purchase requisitions copies.
- Assisting in semi-annual physical inventory.
- Fills in for other employees in the Purchasing Department when necessary.
- Assisting recycling needs for shareholders and/or members.
- Unloading trucks and verifying accuracy of shipping documents.
The knowledge and experience our Warehouse Assistant need:
- Two years’ experience in purchasing, general warehousing, and office procedures.
- AA or AAS in Business Administration or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory)
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, appliance repair, automotive, and recreational parts nomenclature; shipping and handling procedures; billing procedures and cash sale.
- Basic math skills, spreadsheet software programs, able to type 45 words per minute, operate a PC and ability to provide superior customer service to Shareholders, vendors, and employees.
- Valid CA driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for pre-employment and continued employment.
Our Warehouse Assistant will also:
- Stand, walk, carry, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and reach frequently.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Use close vision.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with co-workers, shareholders and/or members, Board Directors, contractors, and vendors.
- Be highly organized and able to prioritize work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to problem solve and collaborate.
