Position Summary:
The legal team at Nuveen provides advice and guidance in support of Nuveen's asset management activities. Nuveen is the asset management subsidiary of the TIAA organization, with over $1 trillion in assets under management. Nuveen, through its business lines, manages investments on a global scale in the fixed income, equities and alternatives space, and Nuveen is primarily responsible for asset management, product development, product management and solutions for the TIAA organization. Nuveen also leads and supports strategic enterprise-wide projects within the TIAA organization.
The Nuveen legal team is looking to hire an attorney capable of providing legal advice and guidance to its asset management and investment management clients, including TIAA itself.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Expertise is sought primarily to support the Nuveen Private Placements business. The Nuveen Private Placements business is part of Nuveen's Equities and Fixed Income division, which manages a diverse range of investments for a wide range of clients, including private and public credit and equities strategies. Specifically, the candidate should have expertise primarily in private fixed income investments, with a particular focus on asset-backed securities, project finance transactions and/or investment grade private placements. Expertise in restructurings, workouts and bankruptcies would also be a plus.

Base Pay Range: $157,500/yr. - $272,300/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
