Job Title:
Veterinary Customer Service Specialty Liaison

Department:
Veterinary Medical Center | Operations

Position Objective

The Specialty Service liaison will help organize the daily workflow of the specific service and serve as the point person for cases seen within the service. They will closely interact with clients and referring veterinarians, and provide support to the clinicians, staff, and professional students.

Essential Functions

The duties include, but are not limited to: schedule appointments and gather all pertinent information, coordinates necessary services including details related to previous testing or treatment; assist clients that have been referred from other institutions/RDVM's to coordinate services and provide travel services;

provides knowledgeable receptionist level advice concerning the care and treatment of patients, including questions regarding hospital fees and services in accordance with VMC policies. Directs other questions, communications and transfers to a veterinarian or other staff as appropriate. Assists clients in scheduling follow-up appointments and handles departmental communication via email, text, and voicemail in a timely manner. Screens and triages calls to faculty, house officers and staff; follows established VMC guidelines for communication with clients in varying situations.

Essential Qualifications

1 years of relevant medical/veterinary office experience with strong verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with electronic health records. High school graduate or equivalent per CCS guidelines.

Desired Qualifications

2-4 years of relevant medical/veterinary office experience with strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with electronic health records. Bachelor's degree.

Working Conditions

Exposure to animal dander and/or zoonotic diseases. Sitting for extended periods of time.

Additional Information:

The targeted hiring range for this position is $17.10 - $22.61 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
