SalaryThe Team:
We are looking for a qualified Product Designer specializing in Design Systems for a six-month contract period. This role will help document the foundation of all MyVest products through the creation of a robust product design process that can scale across a variety of applications and platform features. You will be a key contributor to establishing MyVest’s design patterns and visual language by creating and maintaining UX frameworks and UI components.
The Opportunity:
- Define and standardize reusable design patterns and components in Figma
- Serve as the primary owner of our Figma UI Kit including component design and maintenance
- Work cross-functionally to establish, build, and maintain a comprehensive library of shared components
- Provide enablement support to a team of 10+ product managers and designers that use the system
- Set up knowledge-sharing processes that promote collaboration, pairing, and training
- Collaborate with our Design Lead to develop and maintain clear documentation of MyVest product philosophy and principles as it relates to patterns and components
- Track the effectiveness and adoption of the Design System as a tool across teams and disciplines
- Advocate for accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
- Assist with strategic planning to define and refine the design system
- Document next-generation enterprise UI that is specific to the industry we serve
- Help improve overall team and company product design and development processes

- A portfolio presentation that demonstrates strong storytelling skills, a command of best practices, and product design principles
- A player-coach able to help up-skill our existing team whilst contributing to deliverables
Ideal Experience (Don't worry, we don't expect you to have everything on this list, but the more the merrier!):
- Substantial experience in product design, including experience building and evolving an effective design system used by many people (please link a personal website or portfolio)
- Expert level ability building design systems using Figma in a Storybook environment
- Exceptional interaction and visual design skills, with expert command of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, color theory, and brand systems
- Familiarity of platform conventions for responsive Web
- High level of attention to detail
- Professional experience in an agile development environment
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of Atomic Design principles
- Previous experience in wealth management or highly regulated complex systems
- Knowledge of portfolio management systems
- UX/UI portfolio that includes multiple interfaces on a single platform
Location:
- This contractor role is a remote position.
Compensation and Contract Period:
- Depending on a candidate’s relevant skills and experience, this role will be compensated at a rate of approximately $50.00 per hour for up to 32 hours per week for a 6 month period.
