Position Summary:

We are looking for a US based Procurement Specialist to join our international team and help manage Wildlife Works' multidimensional and cross-industries procurement needs. Responsibilities include managing current suppliers, researching new suppliers, ensuring that all purchased products and materials meet our specifications, and negotiating best-value-for-money procurement with Vendors.

This function also includes the management of export. This activity is primarily to reconcile the goods between contracted consolidation platform and acquisition, document Wildlife Works export shipments to ensure that they are in compliance with customs rules and regulations, advise on tariffs coding, coordinate Marine and Goods In Transit insurance, control the documentary protocol for multimodal transport arrangements by air and sea-freight shipping, consult with customs agents to ease passage of shipments through borders, insure communication and coordination with importing countries.

Ultimately, you will liaise with Project Directors in our worldwide projects to understand the needs of our organization and ensure we achieve our supply goals in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare proposals, request quotes and negotiate purchase terms and conditions,
  • Prepare financial projections on excel and monitor the operation, report daily, to final delivery,
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and commercial agreements,
  • Manage payments, warranties, deliveries, commissioning of equipment,
  • Update budget / financial projections and coordinate with Accounts department,
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns,
  • Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings,
  • Support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies,
  • Planning transport routes by carrying out a detailed study of cost-effective trade routes,
  • Negotiate contracts with international forwarders to receive goods from multiple suppliers, manage inventories,
  • Prepare goods for export, issue packing lists, short-term storage, cargo handling, packing for shipping to tropics,
  • Coordinate export procedures and pre-shipment inspections,
  • Prepare and manage all the necessary documents required for international shipping by air and sea-freight, as well as multimodal transport arrangements,
  • Manage marine and goods in transit insurance covers, survey reports, claims and settlements,
  • Verify the delivery of goods and ensuring that deadlines are met,
  • Ensure rules and regulations are met by maintaining the information about licenses and tariffs,
  • Assist Project Sites with their Stock Control and Cargo Inventory Management,
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management or a similar field preferred,
  • 5 years' experience in a procurement, supply and logistic role or similar equivalent experience performing functions such as building relationships and negotiating with vendors,
  • Experience in a global organization, preferably working in support of teams in tropical Africa, Asia and South America,
  • Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies,
  • Excellent knowledge in international shipping and supply chain management,
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills,
  • Exceptional experience in collaboration with national and international teams across multiple cultures and styles.Must be ready to adapt workload to multiple time zones, often calling for early mornings or late nights meetings (at least once weekly), Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing and resource planning systems,
  • Experience with SAGE X3 or similar will be highly regarded,
  • Ability to read and write technical documents as well as speak French is preferred,
  • Approximately 30% travel. This may fluctuate as business demands dictate,
  • Authorization to work in the US,
  • Preference will be given to candidates in North Carolina. Candidates in Vermont and California can also be considered.

Salary Range $55,000 - $85,000
