Upholstery Apprentice

Job Description:
An opportunity to work alongside an experienced lead upholsterer. You will be learning the basic skills of upholstery such as but not limited to: prepping furniture for reupholstery by stripping, and labeling removed furniture coverings. Organizing reproduction of the furniture item. Measuring and cutting fabrics. Learning fabric naps, directions, print patterns, and placement. You will learn upholstery terminology and how to recreate the new piece. You will gain experience using scissors, measuring tools, staple guns, hot glue guns, and industrial sewing machines.

Expectations:
You are expected to listen and interpret instructions, take notes, and have fun. You will be expected to retain your new experiences and apply them. You are expected to respect the safety protocols and maintain the tools that will be provided to you. Most importantly, you are expected to make mistakes…this is how we learn best.

Qualifications:

- A passion to create. A strong curiosity about refurbishing furniture and the excitement to bring them to life again. An eye for detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: Up to $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
